Helen Wang

The people I love and the reason I get up (way earlier than I want to) every morning.

Image of Helen’s family making funny faces. They’re sitting on a bench and from left to right are her husband, son, daughter, and her.

Hi, hey, hello! I hope something wonderful happens for you today!
My name is Helen and I’m out here doing what I love - learning about different types of people using different types of products and solving their biggest pain points. I’ve been in product and design for the last 8 years and I’ve been in leadership/lead roles for the last 4 years (though I’ve always played partial IC because staffing has been hard the last few years). I’m a deeply involved team member and I believe in leading by example to set the tone for how my teams and I can communicate expectations, lead with kindness and empathy, and face hard truths and problems with grace, curiosity and a solution mindset (even when it’s our own internal issues).

I’ve gotten to worked on website and app redesigns/rebrands for all sorts of companies; IA/Taxonomy exercise to reduce 400 websites into ~20 for a manufacturing & tech company, and more. Now I’m working on delivering native device experiences that feel seamless and delightful using a limited bandwidth satellite network - coming soon!

Older projects

These are projects from my earlier pure UX designer days where I really honed my processes and had more classic deliverables :)
